Fires Reported Amidst Red Weather Warning

The Country is currently experiencing record high temperatures.

South Yorkshire Fire and rescue Service have highlighted the efforts their crew have been going to over the last 24 hours.

Firefighters have been busier than usual with the increasing temperatures being both difficult to work in, and causing further problems.

A section of Sprotbrough Road closed at around 3pm due to a large fire in the area, as well as one fire engine in attendance at a fire involving allotments on Moss Way, Sheffield.

Two fire crews from Dearne and Edlington stations were called out to an accidental wildlife fire yesterday evening on Ceramia Court, Goldthorpe, Barnsley. The crew left the scene at 11:40pm

Several deliberate grassland fires were also attended to overnight.
